Course Overview

This course is aimed at students who have already completed a Foundation Degree or other level 5 qualification in Cyber Security, Software Development, Computing, or Information Technologies. It will focus on emerging technologies and research in the Cyber Security industry. It will help you develop critical thinking and research skills introducing key technologies such as AI, Blockchain and IoT, and will prepare you for working in the industry or future study at Masters level. You will develop your skills in programming and ethical hacking as well as conducting your own research and producing a literature review and dissertation. There are 120 credits (5 modules) enabling the BSc (Hons) degree but it is also possible to exit with a BSc (Ordinary) if 80 credits are achieved. The Project / Dissertation module is worth 40 credits while all other modules are worth 20.
